Rolo Chocolate Bar

For my review today I thought I'd give a review of the 'relatively new' Rolo chocolate bar as I have yet to try it!

'More to share as the Rolo turns into a bar'

This 100g chocolate bar is Nestle's new take on the original rolo's and comes described as 'a chocolate block with a caramel centre'. The price seems locked at £1 and the bar comes fashioned in a 5x2 shape, whilst containing 509 calories per bar.

Aesthetically the bar looks very tempting, with what seems to be a wider, more flattened 'original rolo' on top of each square as shown above.

It's worth mentioning that when handling the bar, and snapping of a piece, the bar seems to be really soft and melts very, very quickly so I was left with a sticky mess which isn't pleasant, nor what anyone would like from a chocolate bar.
Taste-wise, the chocolate tastes like the usual creamy Nestle milk chocolate so no issues there and the caramel inside is a lot more gooey than the original rolo's.....which I think is a nice touch inside the bar as it mixes well with the milky chocolate.

Overall, I think the chocolate bar tastes good...however, the mess that seems to come from handling the chocolate puts me off, and I rather prefer the original tube of rolo's! There are some much tastier versions of other chocolates turned into chocolate bars out there, such as the new Maltesers Teasers bar.

Would I buy this again? Maybe

Cadbury 'Pots of Joy'

Hi Guys!

Sorry for the long wait between posts, I was in a car accident last week so I've been recovering since then but I'm feeling better this week!
Since I've been a bit incapacitated this week my amazingly wonderful friend brought over my favourite treat at this moment in time: Cadbury Pots of Joy!

These little 'pots of joy' have literally become my saviour in the past few weeks if I'm in need of a little sweet treat to keep me going, or something small to snack on!
You can get these little 'pots' in packs of 2 and 4, each little pot is 70g and contains 160 calories. When first introduced the 4 packs were priced at £1.....but in ASDA (due to popular demand!) they are now priced at £2.
Many people have commented on the size of the pots, mentioning that they may be too small and that there's not enough in each pot to fill them up, but personally I love the size! I think they are perfect for both children as a small snack after school or dinner, and are perfect for adults as a quick snack on the go!

When I first came across these little pots I was automatically drawn to the 'white chocolate buttons' flavour. Described as a "smooth and creamy dessert made with melted Cadbury white chocolate and whipping cream for maximum smoothness"
My first thought/impression, would be that the pots might look and taste more like a mousse, but on first taste the dessert is smooth and rich in texture, and is 100% the best yoghurt/dessert I've ever had.
Taste wise, I was extremely surprised. I thought the taste wouldn't be as creamy as described and might have a more vanilla essence to it, however the dessert does literally taste like creamy, melted white chocolate and it was absolutely delicious!

The taste is extremely sweet, but the small size of the pots means that you're not eating too much and therefore are not left with the slightly 'sickly' feeling you can sometimes get with sweet tasting products.
Overall, I absolutely love the creamy white chocolate taste of these little pots and the smoothness and silkiness of them makes them taste divine, yes the pots are quite small at 70g but I love the size of them.

Would I buy this again? YES.

Milka Happy Cows!

When I was out and about yesterday I came across this 'Happy Cows' version of the Milka bar for only 50p in Morrisons! You can't go wrong for that price, so inevitably I popped one...or two in my trolley!

The bar is 100g and contains 530 calories of sweet milky goodness. The only description about this chocolate is on the label where it says 'Alpine milk and white chocolate'....which is pretty obvious from looking at the packet.

Upon opening the bar, I was greeted with the lovely smell of milk chocolate and then the wonderful view of the chocolate bar! Going with the 'Happy Cow's theme, the bar is the usual Milka shape with the name written on each chunk, but with random white chocolate splashes spread out across the bar...like a cow!

The bar is aesthetically amazing and looks incredibly appetising.....however my hopes for this bar were a little short lived. When turning the bar over, the whole underside was just plain milk chocolate. The only part of the bar that was white chocolate were the little splashes on the top, and these splashes were simply at the top of the bar rather than mixed with the milk chocolate throughout. This made the bar 95% milk chocolate and 5% white chocolate which slightly ruined the flavour for me.

Now onto the actual taste. Despite the fact that the white chocolate could barely be tasted throughout the bar, the chocolate did taste extremely delicious, with it being the perfect blend between fluffy and creamy, and leaving that little after-taste in your mouth that makes you keep reaching for more.

In conclusion, I was slightly disappointed with the fact the white chocolate wasn't integrated throughout the whole bar, but overall I really enjoyed this chocolate and for 50p wouldn't even hesitate in popping a few more bars in my trolley again. This is the perfect chocolate bar for those who don't like their chocolate too 'sickly' and 'heavy' but still want that creamy, moreish taste!

Would I buy this again? YES.
